North Carolina crash kills teenager

A 14-year-old girl is dead following a violent car accident that left several other people injured. A representative with the North Carolina Highway Patrol (NCHP) said that troopers believe a 22-year-old driver struck the vehicle carrying the girl when he failed to obey a stop sign and cut a corner. Prosecutors have charged the man with driving while impaired and may file additional charges against him depending on the result of the NCHP's investigation. 

Daughter of deceased Walmart greeter loses wrongful death appeal

A North Carolina woman whose 71-year-old mother was killed while working as a greeter when she was knocked to the ground by another employee pursuing a fleeing shoplifter is not entitled to damages for the victim's fatal injury, according to a recent ruling from the North Carolina Court of Appeals. The court upheld the decision of a lower court, which found that neither the other employee nor Walmart Stores were liable for the victim's death.

Dump truck driver charged in fatal North Carolina crash

A 52-year-old North Carolina man faces charges of displaying a driver's license known to be suspended, driving with a revoked license and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle following his involvement in a truck accident that left a 71-year-old woman dead. The man was given a $10,000 secured bond and released to await an upcoming court date.

Woman charged after North Carolina crash

A 20-year-old woman faces criminal charges following her involvement in a serious crash that left a North Carolina motorcyclist dead. The North Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed that the suspect does not appear to have been intoxicated at the time of the fatal motorcycle crash, adding that speed was not a factor in the crash. However, the woman was ultimately found to be responsible for the fatal accident.
