Truck driver charged after North Carolina accident

A truck driver has been charged with speeding following his involvement in a crash that left a bridge covered in sulfuric acid. The 43-year-old Canadian man allegedly contributed to the accident by traveling at an excessive speed, but the North Carolina Highway Patrol says any additional charges are unlikely. According to investigators, the truck accident left the driver injured, but his wounds were not life threatening. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Car accident leaves two dead in North Carolina

One person is dead following a single-car crash in North Carolina. According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the fatal accident occurred at around 3 a.m. in Union County, about 180 miles from Wrightsville Beach. A trooper with the NCHP who helped process the crash site said the driver appeared to have been traveling over 90 mph just before the crash. Police do not believe the driver was impaired by alcohol at the time.

A woman is dead following a collision with a North Carolina Highway Patrol vehicle. The Highway Patrol says that while the officer involved in the fatal accident was traveling above the speed limit, it insists that his speed was not a significant cause of the fatality.

North Carolina teenager faces charges in fatal accident

A 16-year-old high school student will face a number of serious charges after being involved in a North Carolina car wreck that left his 17-year-old female passenger dead. Police claim the fatal accident occurred as the teenager was driving a Jeep at a rate of around 75 miles per hour, 45 miles per hour over the speed limit. The driver was unable to control his vehicle at such speeds and veered off the road before crashing into a tree. Police say neither of the teenagers were wearing seatbelts, causing the driver to be thrown from the car upon impact.
